Wine Enthusiast reviews Stickybeak SBS and Syrah
September 1st, 2011

2008 Stickybeak Syrah (Napa County) 88
This generous Syrah is reminiscent of a nice, rich Provençal wine. It’s soft and spicy and fruity, with a good grip of tannin. The black raspberry, mulberry and cherry flavors are dusted with cinnamon and clove, and you’ll find a coating of sweet, smoky oak. The vineyard is on Atlas Peak. Editors’ Choice. —S.H.

2009 Stickybeak Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc (Sonoma County) 88
Crisp, zingy acidity and dryness make this wine instantly appealing. It’s so bright and clean, but quite rich in peach, pear, lime and lemongrass flavors. A great cocktail sipper, or with Asian food. —S.H.
